MEGAPULSE was founded by DJ Y0bi cofounded by d@TU in July 2024 with the goal of bringing the Otaku Japanese Hardcore (Jcore) underground sound to Chicago. Jcore was only played within the Chicago suburbs during ACen’s Synergy or Soapbubble. MEGAPULSE wanted to change this by introducing Jcore outside of a convention event.

MEGAPULSE has proven itself as a huge success, selling out all tickets during debut. 208 tickets were sold.

Since then MEGAPULSE has partnered with multiple event organizers around the United States to bring J-core to different regions outside of Chicago.
